(Thanks to the ETUC for pointing out to social and workers’ rights dangers of the AGPP, in an Euractiv / Rapporteur article)
The anti-gold-plating pact (AGPP) amounts to a prohibition to Member States to impose new, “heavier” measures that could threaten business and trade after the adoption of a new EU Regulation or Directive. Infringement proceedings are included. From The European Post :

So let’s see how this goes with the 1988 decision of the ECJ that allowed a Member State to go beyond European law as concerns the environment :

So there is something unclear, and the worse is to come :

The situation is even more a terribly dire issue because the European Commission is planning already to fight against diversions of EU money through gassing with depleted uranium carried by Vroomba bis tantamount to standard drone (which eliminates targets within, are very well used without gassing by NATO) with the intent of cleaning the excess depleted uranium scattered around the target. This means that infringement proceedings could become a manhunt. Hence we need to condemn definitively the gold-plating concept. Some elements of EU policy have improved recently but the AGPP is tantamount to criminal.
